Local Chamber of Commerce to use e-learning as key part of its induction programme for new employees

As a result it needed a consistent, effective and flexible way of inducting its growing team. They turned to e-learning specialist Brightwave to create a compelling course.

“We chose to work with Brightwave because we were impressed with their professional approach and had seen examples of their work for other companies which mirrored what we wanted to achieve,” said Katie Timmons, HR Officer, Sussex Enterprise. “New employees tend to start on a very irregular basis and we needed an effective way of introducing them to us, either just before they join or within their first days with us. At the same time we want something that can give joiners an understanding of how we help local businesses. We are confident that e-learning is the best solution for what we want to achieve.”

By using e-learning, Sussex Enterprise can ensure that the company and its processes are portrayed in the same way to all employees. The project was part funded by the Small Business Service.

“E-learning is a great tool for induction,” said Charles Gould, Brightwave’s Managing Director. “It helps companies of all sizes get their new recruits up to speed and be productive quickly; and as the same material can be used over and over again it is very cost effective and consistent.”
